Daily Telegraph 1 July 15: Vincent Tchenguiz can't sue Kaupthing in England due to Icelandic law

A judge has thrown out part of Vincent Tchenguiz's £2.2bn lawsuit over a botched investigation by the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) into his affairs.

The property tycoon was told by the High Court in London that he cannot sue failed Icelandic bank Kaupthing in England due to a law passed by the Scandinavian country during the financial crisis.

The law states that the only court that can hear a claim against an insolvent Icelandic lender is in Iceland.

Mr Tchenguiz plans to appeal the decision.
